Report: Former Agent Pleads Guilty to Fraud

A former insurance agent was ordered to perform 200 hours of community service after pleading guilty to stealing $105,000 in workers’ compensation premiums from Southern California business owners, according to a report by mynewsla.com.
Alan Amir Yousefi, who operated as Vanak Insurance Services, was charged with grand theft, insurance fraud and forgery. He allegedly pocketed workers’ compensation premiums and used the money for gambling, sports equipment and designer clothes, according to a 2019 press release from the California Department of Insurance.
Yousefi’s license expired in 2016.
Yousefi will be required to serve 270 days in jail if he fails to complete the 200 hours of community service by July 6, 2022.
He was also ordered to pay restitution totaling $95,425.60, plus 10% interest.
