Cuyahoga County Judge Richard McMonagle has approved the $420 million settlement agreement announced last week in a long-running class-action lawsuit against the state Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
McMonagle was the trial court judge that ruled after a 2012 trial that the BWC had set up an illegal rating system and ordered it to refund $859 million to more than 200,000 employers.
