First responders want almost all known cancers to be considered compensable. Municipalities for years have been happy to limit the list to three cancers, as recognized by an international research group.
Now, the two sides may have found middle ground in the Texas Legislature, with a revised bill that would list 10-12 cancers thought to be associated with firefighting.
