Report: Governor Considering Candidates for Comp Court Vacancy

Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee will review five candidates for appointment to a lifetime seat on the Workers’ Compensation Court, the Providence Journal reports.
The state’s Judicial Nominating Commission last week sent the governor a list of potential appointees following a public hearing and interviews.
The five candidates are Providence Municipal Court Judge Lisa F. Bortolotti; solo practitioner Hagop S. Jawharjian; George J. Lazieh at the Law Offices of Steven B. Stein; Alfred A. Russo Jr., a partner at Shechtman Halperin Savage; and Michael A. St. Pierre, a partner at Revens, Revens & St. Pierre.
The Workers’ Compensation Court judge position pays an annual salary of $160,317.
