The Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission on Monday posted a notice on its website saying "operating constraints" have required it to suspend the mailing of decisions indefinitely.
Although the IWCC did not respond to inquiries as to how it wound up in such dire straits as to not be able to afford postage, attorneys in the state are attributing the commission's fiscal woes to the ongoing political deadlock that's keeping Illinois from passing a budget.
