The Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation adopted rules that will increase five conversion factors and reduce two others as part of its annual update to the medical fee schedule and utilization standards.
Colorado uses Medicare’s Resource-Based Relative Value Scale for its fee schedule, which assigns relative value units to procedures that are multiplied by a conversion factor to calculate reimbursement.
The DWC adopted rules changing the conversion factors effective Jan. 1, 2018, as follows:
