Assembly Passes Bill Prohibiting Apportionment Discrimination

The California Assembly unanimously passed a bill that would limit consideration of certain characteristics in apportionment decisions. The Assembly voted 77-0 on Thursday to pass SB 788, by Sen. Steven Bradford, D-Gardena. Bradford’s bill would prohibit consideration of race, religious creed, color, national origin, gender, marital status, sex, sexual identity or sexual orientation to determine the percentage of permanent disability caused by factors other than a work injury.
