The Business and Labor Committee of the Utah House of Representatives on Monday passed an amended bill that would set hospital reimbursement at 75% to 85% of the charged rates depending on the size of the county in which the facility is located.
An amendment to Senate Bill 64 would allow carriers to contract directly with hospitals to set payments through July 1, 2021. Carriers that don’t enter a contract would be required to pay a percentage of the hospital’s billed rate, under the bill by Sen. Karen Mayne, D-West Valley City.
