The Washington state Department of Labor and Industries announced that a real estate broker and a housekeeper are facing criminal charges for separate incidents of alleged workers’ compensation fraud.
Robert K.J. Choe, 64, is accused of wrongfully obtaining nearly $88,000 in cash benefits over a two-year period starting in the fall of 2015.
He was originally injured in 2014 when he fell on his back while working as a cook at a Bellevue restaurant, L&I said. With a doctor’s assessment that he was too injured to work, he began receiving indemnity benefits from the department.
