New York Adds Code for COVID-19 Testing; Nebraska Resumes In-Person Hearings

From testing reimbursement to hearing rules, Eastern states continue to make changes to manage the requirements of the coronavirus pandemic. New York: The state Workers' Compensation Board has adopted emergency rules that allow reimbursement for COVID-19 tests in comp claims. Providers can now use Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code 87635. The relative value unit for the code is $39.18, the board said in a bulletin. The total fee for the test will be $51.33 for Region IV in New York state; $47.41 for Region III; and $41.53 for Regions I and II. Code 87635 may be used only once per...
