Armada Ammunition Shut Down Due to Lack of Comp Coverage

Friday, March 10, 2017 | 0

The state of Florida issued a stop-work order to an ammunition factory after finding the company did not carry workers' compensation insurance, the Tallahassee Democrat reported.

The Florida Division of Workers' Compensation ordered all operations to halt at Armada Ammunition Inc. in Quincy on Feb. 23.

A search of the state's stop-work order database shows that the company had not resumed operations as of Thursday.

Armada Ammunition's 8,000-square-foot factory produces pistol and rifle ammunition for law enforcement, according to an announcement made at its 2016 opening. It has recently sold ammunition to the Leon and Gadsden county sheriff's offices, and police departments in Midway, Havana and Gretna, the Democrat reported. The company has 11 employees.
