A bill that would allow firefighters to receive workers’ compensation benefits if they’re injured while outside of California cleared its first hurdle Wednesday when the Assembly Insurance Committee unanimously moved the measure over the objections of employers.
The committee voted 13-0 to pass AB 932, by Assemblyman Evan Low, D-San Jose, which would have the effect of providing coverage retroactive to the 2017 shooting in Las Vegas.
