Nearly All Subjects Pass UR Audits in 2025; Only $2,500 in Penalties Assessed

Annual utilization review investigations uncovered a handful of violations and yielded only $2,500 in fines in 2025, according to results for claims administrators posted to the California Division of Workers' Compensation website. Of the 36 shops reviewed last year, all but one passed the audit. The average score across audit subjects was 98.3%, well above the passing score of 85%.
