Pharmacies in Idaho that aren't registered with the federal government as manufacturers would be prohibited from compounding any medications without a prescription under a bill being debated in the state Senate.
House Bill 8, a bill introduced by the House Health and Welfare Committee, defines compounding as the practice or mixing, altering or combining the ingredients of a drug product "to create a medication tailored to the needs of an individual patient."
