Moore: NCCI Video Answers Key Question

I have been very hesitant over the years to include videos in these articles. Quite a few articles in this blog have covered the vast improvements in the NCCI combined ratio figures. Being text-based and easy to read has been my goal since the first article was published in 2007.

Cristine Pike, communications director for the National Council on Compensation Insurance, forwarded the video as a snippet of what the NCCI Yearly AIS Conference covers in its sessions.

I was going to write an introduction to the video, but Cristine’s message to me should suffice:

Breaking down a 75-minute presentation isn’t easy, and sometimes folks aren’t able to digest all the content at once.

I agree. Watching a 75-minute video on workers' comp is quite a task, but this video is only 7:09 long. 

The combined ratio discussion starts at approximately 1:40 and 4:40 in the video. 

I suggest taking the time to watch the video in full. The two participants are Kipust and Sheila Fortson. The differences and similarities between the combined ratio and the carrier-reported combined ratios are both moving in a positive direction.
