The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited a Houston, Texas machine shop for failing to abate workplace safety issues and amputation hazards, as well as other violations. It has proposed penalties of $57,000.
OSHA re-inspected Machinery Maintenance Rebuilders Inc. in January 2016, and investigators noted that the company had failed to abate a number of hazards identified in an earlier inspection last year. That included failing to install guards on various lathes, saws and milling machines, according to the workplace safety agency.
