W.R. Berkley on Wednesday reported net income of $161.9 million in the third quarter, down from $162.05 million for the same period in 2017.
The carrier reported $1.93 billion in gross written premiums, up from $1.87 billion in the prior-year quarter. W.R. Berkley reported $371.4 million in net written workers’ compensation premium, up from $3.67 million in the third quarter of 2017.
The carrier’s combined ratio dropped to 95.9% in the third quarter, compared to 101% in the same period last year.
