The average weekly wage in West Virginia has climbed considerably in the last two years, which means the maximum weekly workers' compensation benefit also has increased, the state insurance commissioner announced.
The maximum rate for temporary total disability in West Virginia is set at 100% of the average weekly wage in the state. In 2019, that was $823. Starting July 1, the weekly wage and the maximum rate will rise to $885, the office said.
