Governor Signs Bill Tweaking Uninsured Fund Petitions, Doctors' Invoices

Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo has signed a bill that gives workers and the uninsured fund a little more room to recover payments when an employer is not insured. Senate Bill 2915, referred to as the “annual workers' compensation omnibus bill,” also changes the time frame for treating physicians to send bills to the insurer. Instead of six weeks after an injury, doctors now have 10 weeks to send bills and status reports, then every 10 weeks thereafter, the law reads.
