Attorney Draws Suspension for 'Sexting' Client

A Lima-area solo practitioner got herself suspended from the practice of law this week for "sexting" with one of her clients. The Ohio Supreme Court imposed a one-year suspension on N. Shannon Bartels, subject to a six month stay if she completes six hours of legal education courses on professional conduct and professionalism. Bartels, who focuses her practice on workers' compensation and family law cases, has a history of engaging in improper behavior with her clients.
