California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara has made creating a new online fraud reporting system for district attorneys a priority after the project was delayed due to the recent pandemic and funding issues, Department of Insurance officials said Wednesday.
“COVID and budget issues put it on hold,” CDI Fraud Division Chief Eric Charlick said during a Fraud Assessment Commission meeting. “But the commissioner has made it a priority. It is now getting pushed forward.”
