Redington Shores’ workers’ compensation costs might rise by $90,000 next year in a worst case scenario if police officers continue to get hurt while on-duty said local town commissioners at a June 24 meeting.
Redington Shores, which contracts out the Indian Shores Police Department, pays a third of the total workers’ compensation costs and town Mayor Bert Adams said that the increase would cause the city’s police force budget to increase by 6%, according to the Beach Beacon.
