It took injured workers being treated in-network longer to see an orthopedic surgeon than those being treated out of network in 20 of 35 states in a new National Council on Compensation Insurance study.
The biggest difference was in Florida, where the median wait time for a network orthopedist was 24 days from date of injury, compared to 17 days out of network. The 24 days was the longest median wait time to see an orthopedist for in-network claims among the 35 states for which figures were provided.
