A Tennessee legislative subcommittee has deferred action on the House equivalent of Sen. Mark Green’s voluntary workers’ compensation measure until the 2016 session.
The House Consumer and Human Relations Subcommittee decided not to act during this session on House Bill 997, sponsored by Rep. Jeremy Durham. The measure was identical to Green’s SB 721, which would allow employers to forego the workers’ compensation system if they offered an alternative plan with a stipulated minimum level of employee benefits.
