Lawmakers from California introduced legislation proposing to require the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to adopt a federal standard to protect workers in high-heat environments. The latest version of the bill, which appears similar if not identical to versions that were introduced in 2021 and 2023, was announced as OSHA wrapped up informal hearings on proposed rules that would implement a federal heat standard.
