Montana lawmakers introduced bills that would reduce the frequency with which carriers must report benefit payments and remove the average weekly wage cap on benefits.
Permanent total disability, temporary total disability and death benefits are all capped at Montana's average weekly wage, which is currently $1,084.49. Permanent partial disability benefits are capped at half the state's average weekly wage.
Senate Bill 308, introduced Wednesday by Sen. Derek Harvey, D-Butte, would remove those caps.
