A Louisiana appellate court ruled that a widow’s claim for benefits was untimely filed. Case: Thomas v. Bureau of Investigation, No. 24-296, 12/18/2024, published. Facts: James Thomas III was an investigator for the Louisiana Office of State Police Bureau of Investigation. He tested positive for COVID-19 in January 2022.
