A bill that's been called a roundabout way to limit the term of an unpopular administrative law judge passed a Senate committee Tuesday.
Senate Bill 248, sponsored by Sen. Justin Brown, R-Rolla, would limit terms for all 28 Missouri ALJs, on a staggered basis, and would require more performance reviews and removal of judges who receive bad marks.
The measure passed the Senate Government Reform Committee after sitting idle for more than a month. A similar bill, HB 262, also was vetted in a House committee hearing last week.
Both bills appear to be the latest twist to a years-long bat...
