The Nevada Assembly passed a bill that would create a cost-of-living adjustment for workers’ compensation death benefits.
The Assembly on Tuesday voted 41-0 to pass AB 370, by Assemblyman Skip Daly, D-Sparks.
The bill would provide an annual 2.3% increase in death benefits starting in 2020.
The measure would also increase the base amount of death benefits for people who died before 1994. For workers who died before Jan. 1, 1989, benefits would be compounded three times by 2.3%. For workers who died between Jan. 1, 1989, and Jan. 1, 1994, the increase would be compounded two t...
