The month of May ushered in a trio of requests by California politicians to probe how state agencies work with prosecutors, insurers, employers and each other to combat workers’ compensation fraud.
The requests, which came at a time of increased media scrutiny of workers’ comp fraud, sought different forms of review with a similar goal: to identify areas where California is falling short when it comes to identifying and prosecuting fraud cases.
