A medical assistant at a clinic in Southern California agreed to pay nearly $33,000 in restitution and plead no contest to a felony count of making a false statement to receive benefits, workers’ compensation defense firm Gilson Daub announced. Evelyn Tolentino said she was injured in August 2015 when she fell from a ladder while pulling charts at the medical clinic where she worked in Granada Hills.
