Bills that would create or expand presumptions that cancer and other conditions are occupational diseases for firefighters have found a receptive ear among lawmakers in several western states.
The Arizona House of Representatives Health Committee on Thursday passed one bill that would add 12 new cancers to an existing presumption for firefighters, and another creating a new presumption for heart-related injuries, illnesses and death.
