A bill that would revise the Illinois workers' compensation fee schedules after next year will get a committee hearing today, but the Republican-sponsored measure is not expected to advance much beyond that.
House Bill 2792 is sponsored by state Rep. Dan Ugaste, R-St. Charles, an insurance defense attorney. The bill will likely be opposed by the Illinois State Medical Society and probably won't see much action in the legislature, which is controlled by Democrats, said Dr. David Fletcher, an occupational medicine and workers' compensation physician in Champaign.
