The Missouri Court of Appeals ruled that an employer was liable for a worker's $19,655.91 hospital bill after he underwent extensive treatment for a heart attack, when all he had was a strained chest muscle. Case: Gonzales v. Butterball, No. SD33269, 02/11/2015, published. Facts: Eleazar Gonzales began working for Butterball in January 2011. His job duties included weighing turkeys and carrying them to grinding machines. Gonzales reported chest pain to a coworker and his supervisor while lifting an 80-pound turkey in June 2009.
