A Cleveland man thought he was selling a gift to a customer in his bait shop but what he did not know was a video camera planted by the Special Investigations Unit of the Ohio Bureau of Compensation was recording his every move.
Anthony A. Avancini of Cleveland pleaded guilty July 21 to one misdemeanor count of workers’ compensation fraud in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas as the result, in part, of a video demonstrating he was involved in the daily business of the shop while collecting disability payments, according to a news release from the BWC.
