Allan McVey will be West Virginia's new insurance commissioner, the governor's office announced last week.
McVey, the current vice president and agency manager of BB&T-Carson Insurance Services, will start on April 1. He has 48 years of experience in the insurance industry.
McVey holds a degree in business from West Virginia State University.
Recently instated Democratic Gov. Jim Justice, a coal mining and agriculture businessman, announced McVey's appointment in a press release on Wednesday.
