Assembly Passes Firefighter TD Boost, MPN Study Measures

The California Assembly on Thursday approved bills that would increase temporary disability payments for state firefighters and require a study of issues relating to medical provider networks. The Assembly voted 76-0 to pass AB 872 and 78-0 to pass AB 1465. AB 872, by Assemblyman Jim Wood, D-Santa Rosa, would allow firefighters working for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection to receive up to one year of salary continuation benefits in lieu of temporary disability.
