A federal jury in Hartford, Connecticut, has found an insurance agency owner guilty of stealing more than $1.7 million in a fraud scheme, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
Earl O’Garro Jr., 32, was found guilty of two counts of wire fraud and one count of mail fraud. Each charge carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years. Sentencing is scheduled for March 7.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, O’Garro defrauded a specialty lender, insurance carriers and the state of Connecticut.
