BWC Administrator/CEO Sarah Morrison said the agency reduced private employer premium base rates by 8.6%, reduced public employers’ average rates by 9% and delivered $15 million in rebates to 88 county governments.

Morrison outlined the accomplishments Tuesday in an opinion piece published by the Circleville Herald.

The BWC also launched its Other States Coverage program to give employers the choice of purchasing special coverage to ensure their workers receive benefits when working outside Ohio, Morrison said.

She touts the agency’s nearly $5 billion in premium reductions, rebates and credits since 2011, and said Ohio now has the country’s 11th lowest rates after climbing to the third most expensive in 2008.
