The death of several workers' compensation bills this year has raised the question of whether Florida's 60-day legislative session, one of the shortest in the nation, is a little too tight to take on more than a few highly publicized issues.
“With just 60 days, they're forced to address only those issues that are seen as being in crisis,” said Florida workers' compensation Deputy Chief Judge David Langham. “If it's not a crisis, it's probably not going to get addressed.”
