Utah’s state-chartered Workers’ Compensation Fund could become a mutual carrier next year with Gov. Gary Herbert’s blessing.
The House of Representatives on Friday voted 65-0 to pass Senate Bill 92, by Sen. Curtis Bramble, R-Provo, which would repeal statutes defining Workers’ Compensation Fund as a quasi-public, nonprofit corporation effective Jan. 1. The Senate on Feb. 14 voted 25-0 to pass the bill.
