Travelers Bumps Liberty as Top Workers' Comp Insurer

Travelers Group surpassed Liberty Mutual Group as the nation’s top workers’ compensation insurer in 2013, reporting direct written premiums of $4.14 billion to Liberty’s $3.59 billion, according to figures released Tuesday by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Last year, Liberty had direct written premiums of $4.18, while Travelers had $3.8 billion.
