Louisiana Workforce Commission Director Curt Eysink said in a release that the state’s workplace safety numbers are “headed in the right direction” following the release last week of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ preliminary count for its 2013 Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries.
The BLS preliminary report showed that Louisiana had 114 work-related fatalities, down from 116 in 2012. The final CFOI statistics for 2013 will be released in the spring.
