A Hudson Valley Democrat introduced a bill to the New York State Assembly that aims to encourage workers' compensation insurers to step up premium audits in the construction industry.
Assemblyman Kevin Cahill of Kingston on April 6 revived A. 7330 by amending the measure, which he introduced last May. According to Cahill's memorandum explaining the bill, the purpose of A. 7330 is to combat workers' compensation insurance fraud and hold down premiums by "restating" current law so that it is clear that employers who make misrepresentations in premium audits, ...
