EEOC Sues Cessna Over Use of Comp Standards in Hiring

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a federal lawsuit in Wisconsin last Tuesday against Cessna Aircraft, alleging the aviation manufacturer violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by withdrawing job offers after learning of workers' medical conditions. The EEOC said in a news release that Cessna, a Textron subsidiary based in Wichita and Independence, Kansas, rescinded job offers to several workers because of generalized standards that were not relevant to the individual workers.
