The California Assembly Insurance Committee unanimously passed bills that would allow electronic signatures in Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board proceedings and require workplace posters to include a notice of the right to consult an attorney to discuss workers’ compensation rights.
The committee on Wednesday also passed a bill that would give fraud investigators at the Department of Insurance a 20% raise to align their pay with investigators at the Justice Department.
