Committee Votes to Extend Second-Injury Fund Assessment to 2024

Missouri's Second-Injury Fund has moved a step closer to getting funded for another three years after a House committee approved HB 384. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Rudy Veit, R-Wardsville, would extend the surcharge on workers' compensation premiums to 2024. The 3% annual assessment is set to expire this year, and proponents of the bill said the funding is needed to ensure the solvency of the program.
