The California Assembly Insurance Committee unanimously passed bills that would make it harder for uninsured employers to transfer property to avoid liens, extend the duration of health coverage for minor dependents of deceased first responders and limit employer subrogation rights on claims involving first responders.
The committee on Wednesday voted 17-0 to pass SB 847, by Sen. Eloise Reyes, D-San Bernardino, which would allow the Department of Industrial Relations to investigate whether an uninsured employer attempted to conceal real property after a workplace accident.
