California Gov. Jerry Brown vetoed a bill that would have allowed the board of directors for State Compensation Insurance Fund to appoint eight additional exempt senior management employees.
SB 1451, by Sen. Tony Mendoza, D-Artesia, would have allowed the carrier’s board to hire eight executives for areas including underwriting, technology, claims, finance and actuarial services.
