AG Announces Settlement to Cut Rates 3.5%

The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office on Monday announced a settlement with the State Rating Bureau and the Workers’ Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau that will reduce workers’ compensation rates by an average of 3.5% in July. “In December 2021, the industry sought an overall statewide average rate increase of 2.7%, and the AG’s Office intervened in the rate proceeding seeking a rate rollback for Massachusetts ratepayers,” Maura Healey’s office said in a statement. “The industry agreed not only to abandon its request to increas...
